How Long Does Virgin Media Take To Install

Mine was a new install. TV, phone and 50MB BB. The ii-man team arrived at about 0745 (on a Saturday) and were consummate earlier 1030.

They had to dig a (very shallow) trench from the cable point on the path across the front lawn to a point on the exterior wall where they affixed a junction box - to split the incoming signal out for the phone, TV and BB. They then routed cables along the exterior wall of the house to the appropriate points where the services were required - (ground floor) phone and Tv set to living room, (upstairs) second Television receiver to bedroom one and BB to study.

Holes drilled through walls to bring cablevision from outside to inside. Termination of cables, junction boxes fitted at all four points. Initial set-upward and functional tests of 5+ and V Hard disk drive boxes. Exam of telephone line. Set-up and functional tests of BB.

As a previous 5+ user I didn't need a 'driving lesson' on how it works then maybe that saved them x minutes.

On a couple of occasions one of the pair wandered off down the route to do 'stuff' in the street chiffonier for v-10 minutes at a time. Presumably sorting out patch cables and checking cable IDs etc.

Only snag was a faulty splitter in the junction box for upstairs TV which was inverse with no fuss and but a marginal delay.

Somehow the pair of them did all of this and drank ii cups of tea each in about 2.5 hours. I'd judge this install would be towards the lengthy end of the range of all installs that they normally do so I'd judge the average time would exist a fleck less than 2 hours.
